Outline (in English)

(Course outline) This course continues from "Religious Science I" and further explores a cross-section of major religious phenomena. Students will learn how religion is connected to modern society from a more specialized perspective.(This is a developmental course based on the spring semester "Religious Science I". Prior completion of the course is recommended, but students may take this course even if they have not taken it. There are some overlapping themes, but the content will be more in-depth.)
(Learning Objectives) The goal of this course is to further develop an understanding of religion and the religious studies. It will enable students to objectively view and examine the role and significance of religion in the modern world.
(Learning activities outside of classroom) As preparation, it is advisable to find and read books suitable for each lecture topic, and after the lecture, it is advisable to do in-depth research on what you are particularly interested in based on what you have learned.
Before/after each class, students will be expected to spend 2 hours each.
(Grading Criteria /Policy) Grading will be decided based on in-class contribution (50%) and term-end examination (50%). The former is based on the content of the reaction paper and the level of participation, and the latter is based on the degree to which the "Learning Objectives" have been achieved through the examination.
