Outline (in English)

In this course, for those who have studied logic more or less once, students will learn how to reason logically and argue persuasively. In other words, by combining two approaches, logic and rhetoric, they will learn the mechanism of reasoning in everyday language. Students will acquire the basic knowledge and techniques to think correctly in everyday life without frustration.
By the end of the course, students should be able to do the followings:
A. Students will be able to reason logically and argue persuasively.
B. Students will be able to use knowledge and skills in logic and rhetoric to develop persuasive arguments.
C. Students will be able to distinguish between logical reasoning by symbols and reasoning by everyday language, and understand how each works.
Before/after each class meeting, students will be expected to spend four hours to understand the course content.
Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following.
Term-end examination: 60%、in class contribution and quiz: 40%.
