Outline (in English)

Learning logic is fundamental to developing rational thinking and problem-solving skills. It equips us with the methods to approach and resolve various challenges we face in our daily lives. Moreover, logical thinking helps us function better in society by improving our decision-making abilities and overall cognitive performance. "Logic II" aims to acquire modern propositional logic and logic on science, cognition, and history.
Goals: (1) Students can learn fundamental knowledge for thinking about science, cognition, and history. (2) Students can judge the truth or falsity of inferences using truth tables and reductio ad absurdum. Students can acquire working skills related to hypothesis building, document construction, and persuasion. Homework: Please read the relevant parts of the textbook to get an overview (2 hours). Review the contents of the previous class using the handouts to ensure that you have acquired the knowledge of logic (2 hours).
Grading criteria: (1) Ordinary points (attitude toward lecture, evaluation of assignments, etc.) and (2) Autumn semester exam scores. (1) and (2) will each be at a ratio of 50%.
