Outline (in English)

The study of logic is fundamental to our ability to think and act rationally. The definitions of objects and matters in question help us to understand and solve various problems that we encounter in our daily lives. Furthermore, the ability to discern correct inferences is the foundation of critical thinking. The purpose of this class is to master the concepts, judgments, and reasoning of traditional logic using ordinary language.

Goals: (1) Students can gain basic knowledge for appropriate grounding. (2) Students can develop an attitude of thinking logically and calmly. For example, they can use the rules of direct and indirect reasoning to make correct inferences. (3) Acquire the ability to communicate logically.
Homework: Read the relevant parts of the textbook to get an overview (2 hours). Review the contents of the previous class using the handouts to ensure that you have acquired the knowledge of logic (2 hours). Grading criteria: (1) Ordinary points (attitude toward lecture, evaluation of assignments, etc.) and (2) Spring semester exam scores. (1) and (2) will each be at a ratio of 50%.
