Outline (in English)

This is a course to learn propositional logic and critical thinking. The main aim of this course is to help students acquire the basic knowledge and skills needed to make valid deductive reasonings.
By the end of the course, students should be able to understand the followings:
1. The meaning of logical connectives, truth-value analysis and the forms of tautologies and so forth.
2. The application of the valid rules of inference such as De Morgan's laws and disjunction elimination.
Before/after each class meeting, students will be expected to spend four hours to understand the course content.
Final grade will be calculated according to the following process: Mid-term examination (40%), Term-end examination (40%) and Contribution in class (20%).
