Outline (in English)

【Course outline】
This course will offer a historical perspective on the questions that philosophy has explored and the ideas it has developed. Specifically, we will delve into philosophical inquiries that revolve around existential matters, such as "What exists in this world?" as well as those related to cognition, such as "How do we perceive the world around us?" Our discussions will focus on Western antiquity and medieval times.
【Learning Objectives】
This course aims to comprehend fundamental concepts of Western philosophy, practice the art of philosophical reasoning, and enhance self-awareness by exploring the ideas of various philosophers.
【Learning activities outside of classroom】
Students are required to review their resumes and create reaction papers to deepen their reflections.
You are required to dedicate at least four hours to studying for a class.
【Grading Criteria /Policy】
Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following
Term-end examination: 60%, Reaction papers: 40%
