Outline (in English)

In this course, students are expected to interpret utopian literature in relation to political and cultural contexts, such as bureaucratism, totalitarianism, imperialism, anarchism and posthumanism. The goals of this course are to survey the history of utopian literature, learn the basics of interpretation of literature and improve English reading comprehension. Before/after each class meeting, students will be expected to spend four hours to understand the course content. The final grade will be calculated according to the following process: performance in class activities (30%) and term-end examination (70%).
