Outline (in English)

By comparing the documents of the Japan-China relations, it becomes possible to read not only sentences and literary works of other countries but also literary works of their own country from a multilateral point of view.By learning each classic during the day, you can acquire more knowledge and culture when you read other literary works.
Through reading carefully, you will gain the knowledge and culture necessary to appreciate the literature of both Japan and China from a broader perspective. When you are interested in Japanese and Chinese classics, you can learn the basics for reading on your own.
Decide on a theme,do it in a lecture format.First, explain the times, the background of the establishment, the author, etc., and then read the text. You will also learn habits and lifestyles as needed.
Students submit reaction papers or sub-assignments at class every time, and explain the parts and questions that need to be supplemented while checking their understanding at the next class. Also, this reaction paper (or sub-assignments) determines the normal points.
Be sure to prepare for the materials distributed in advance. Please review what you learned in class well.
The preparation and review time for this class is 2 hours each.
I don't use textbooks in this class. Each time, along with the original text and translation, the materials are distributed as appropriate.
We will evaluate the normal points mainly on each reaction paper or small assignment as 30% and the score of the final examination as 70%. Attendance is a major premise.
Adjust the handout and speed of progress considering the contents and requests described in the reaction paper. If you have a question in the reaction paper, answer it in class as much as possible. In order to explain as clearly as possible, if there are images and videos, it may be used.
The works listed in Syllabus are examples or main works, and other works will be added as appropriate.
When reading the original text in class, it is done in a “kundoku” method using “kaeriten”, so international students should keep this in mind.
It doesn't matter if it's electronic, so it's desirable to bring it if you have a Chinese-Japanese dictionary.
Classes are conducted on the premise that you have basic knowledge of Japanese history B in high school and knowledge of literary history.
