Outline (in English)

It focuses mainly from ancient things to Tang poetry, and it opens a vision to Chinese classical literature by understanding while relating it to episode of poet, background background · culture etc. Also learn the basic knowledge necessary for appreciating Chinese poetry.
Acquire the basic knowledge necessary to appreciate Chinese classics and Chinese poetry. Chinese classics, including Chinese poetry, tend to have a difficult image, but once you know the point, you can see that it's easy to understand.
Do it in a lecture format. While explaining the historical background, customs, and authors, he reads the original text in “kundoku”. Classes proceed in chronological order from the spring and autumn period to the Tang dynasty.
Students submit reaction papers or sub-assignments at class every time, and explain the parts and questions that need to be supplemented while checking their understanding at the next class. Also, this reaction paper (or sub-assignments) determines the normal points.
Be sure to prepare for the materials distributed in advance. Please review what you learned in class well.
The preparation and review time for this class is 2 hours each.
I don't use textbooks in this class. Each time, along with the original text and translation, the materials are distributed as appropriate.
We will evaluate the normal points mainly on each reaction paper or small assignment as 30% and the score of the final examination as 70%. Attendance is a major premise.
Adjust the handout and speed of progress considering the contents and requests described in the reaction paper. If you have a question in the reaction paper, answer it in class as much as possible. In order to explain as clearly as possible, if there are images and videos, it may be used.
The works listed in Syllabus are examples or main works, and other works will be added as appropriate.
When reading the original text in class, it is done in a “kundoku” method using “kaeriten”, so international students should keep this in mind.
It doesn't matter if it's electronic, so it's desirable to bring it if you have a Chinese-Japanese dictionary.
