Outline (in English)

【Course outline】
Read the "The Tale of the Heike" which is a typical work of Japanese classical literature and consider how Heike clan is being driven to ruin through three battles of Ichinotani battle, Yasima battle and Dannoura battle. We analyze in detail how the activities of the appearing people are depicted and clarify how the author sees the meaning of the battle. While paying attention to the fact that "Heike Monogatari" was spoken, We explore the possibilities of expression by means of words.
