Outline (in English)

【Course outline】
In order to complete a master's thesis as academic research in the field of sports coaching (including sports philosophy, sports pedagogy and martial arts theory), students learn about the various concepts and theories required, identify research issues that have not been clarified in previous research and set their own research topics.

【Learning Objectives】
(1) To improve problem-setting skills and to organize and clarify one's own research theme (purpose).
(2) In addition to the knowledge gained through the undergraduate thesis, add new knowledge in sports science and bring it to a high level of fruition. Acquire basic thinking and methodology for writing a master's thesis, based on a theoretical foundation of detailed and extensive insights (previous research).

【Learning activities outside of classroom】
The standard preparation and review time for this class is 2 hours each.

【Grading Criteria /Policy】
The evaluation will be comprehensive for each of the following items: review of previous research, development of a conceptual diagram, identification of issues from previous research, establishment of research objectives, identification of research importance, and definition of key concepts.
