Outline (in English)

Course outline:We learn how to understand and support Special Educational Needs through inclusive provision. Special Educational Needs includes developmental disorders, mild mental retardation,students with ethnic
background, poverty, abused child and so on.

Learning Objectives:Understand the characteristics of disabilities and the mental and physical development of infants, children, and students with special needs.In particular, acquire basic knowledge about the learning and daily life difficulties of various disabilities, and The goal is to understand children's physical and mental development, psychological characteristics, and learning processes, as well as the philosophy and structure of special needs education systems, including inclusive education.
In addition, it is necessary to understand the educational curriculum and support methods for infants, children, and students who require special support, in particular, to understand specific examples of support methods, and to understand the position of classroom guidance and independent activities in the curriculum. The goal is for students to understand the significance and methods of creating individual instruction plans and educational support plans, and to understand the significance of building a support system in collaboration with coordinators, related organizations, and families.
Understand how to identify and support young children, children, and students who do not have disabilities but have special educational needs, especially the learning and living difficulties of these children due to issues such as their native language or poverty. The goal is to understand how to respond and understand the need for an organizational response.

Learning activities outside of classroom:Preparation and review time for this class requires approximately 2 hours of study each. The contents of the preparation will be instructed as necessary.

Grading Criteria /Policy:Normal score (contribution to discussion and group work) 36% + Post-class assignments 26% + Final exam 38%.
