Outline (in English)

【Course outline】This lecture will organize various theories on aging and care and understand their characteristics through research in the field related to welfare for the elderly. Furthermore, we will look at future research methodologies in the field of welfare for the elderly.
【Learning Objectives】The aim of this course is to analyze and examine research papers and practical cases on the welfare of the elderly, the culture of aging, and the sociology of gerontology, and to look at the ideal form of welfare research for the elderly.
【Learning activities outside the classroom】Students will read literature on "the elderly" in the fields of cultural anthropology, sociology of aging, and geropsychology, as well as welfare for the elderly, in advance to organize the background and characteristics of issues from the perspective of research on aging and care, and from the perspective of the real world. The standard preparation and review time for this class is 4 hours for each session.
【Grading Criteria/Policies】Students will be evaluated based on their participation in the lecture (70%) and assignment reports (30%).
