Outline (in English)

【Course Outline】This course is designed to provide students with hands-on experience in constructing research projects and delivering effective presentations in Japanese. Building on the content covered in Freshman Seminar I during the spring semester, students will collaboratively develop challenging research topics for a presentation competition. This involves three presentation sessions: an in-class presentation limited to classmates, a joint presentation session featuring representative groups from various Freshman Seminar II classes, and the final presentation competition where all Freshman Seminar II classes come together, showcasing some of the best presentations.
【Learning Objectives】The presentation topics are typically related to community development, social welfare, or clinical psychology, but not exclusively. Students are required to support their discussions and suggestions with facts and figures obtained through questionnaires, interviews, meta-analysis of previous studies, etc. These methods will be introduced in line with the course's progression.
【Learning Activities Outside the Classroom】Before and after each class, students are expected to spend 2 hours each understanding the course content.
【Grading Criteria/Policy】Grading will be determined by in-class contribution (50%) and the quality of students' performance in discussions, presentations, and reports (50%).
