▼【 Course outline 】
This course examines poetry collections, diaries, and stories established during the Heian period (8th-13th centuries).
We will study their formation, expression, etc., and then consider their position in the history of Japanese literature.
▼【 Learning Objectives 】
The following three objectives will be pursued.
- To study the formation, authorship, and expression of poetry anthologies, diaries, and stories established during the Heian period (8th-13th centuries).
- To learn about the history of research on poetry collections, diaries, and stories established in the Heian period (8th-13th century).
- To look at the literature of the Heian period (8th-13th century) as a historical flow.

The final grade will be based on the credit examination.
The content of the report will be considered in the evaluation.
- To grasp the main points of Heian literature.(50%)
- To understand the flow of literary history.(50%)
