Outline (in English)

[Course outline]
This course provides basic knowledge and skills on some of the major themes of operations research (OR). Learn the basic knowledge and skills of several representative topics of OR.
[Learning Objectives]
1. Understand simultaneous and combinatorial optimization.
2. Understand network optimization.
3. Understand the logistics problem in 2024.
4. Understand simulation and integer programming problems.
5. Understand queueing.
6. Understand decision making under uncertainty.
7. Understand game theory.
8. Can answer some real-world optimization problems.
9. Be able to solve optimization problems using Microsoft Excel's solver function (Excel Solver).
[Learning activities outside of classroom]
・Preliminary study (acquisition of basic knowledge)
・Review of class contents
・Exercises and submission of exercises
The standard preparation and review time for this class is 2 hours each.

Course Approval Conditions
・Attendance rate must be 80% or more.
・Submission of the required materials must be more than 80%.
