Outline (in English)
This class is for students who have JLPT N2 or equivalent proficiency in the Japanese language (a two-credit course). The course introduces various media (documentaries, dramas, movies, etc.) and discusses the content and social and cultural issues surrounding these works. Students are expected to use the dramas and films introduced in class to create mini dramas and practice acting in Japanese.
【Learning Objectives】
By the end of the course, students will be expected to have developed the following: 1) language skills (listening comprehension, summarizing skills, essay witting skills, discussion skills, the ability to express opinions, the ability to create presentations, etc.); 2) analytical skills with media works; and 3) the ability to express their feelings and emotions in Japanese through acting presentations.
【Learning Activities outside of Classroom】
Students will be given weekly assignments that they will be expected to complete by the due dates set by the instructor. Your study time will be about four hours for each class meeting.
【Grading Policy】
・Grading will be decided on the basis of the following:
In-class Contribution: 20%
Assignments: 30%
Mid-term Exam: 25%
Final Presentation: 25%
・No credit will be given to students who are absent more than three times.
・Students who want to take the course must attend the first and second class sessions. Those who fail to do so cannot take the course.
・Students who are absent more than three times can not take the mid-term exam.
【Others】
※This class was called "Japanese Society and Media S" until FY2023. Students who have earned credits in the past will not be able to take this class again.
※The selection will be held if the number of applicants exceeds the class size limit.

授業の概要と目的（何を学ぶか）Outline and objectives
このクラスはJLPTのＮ２以上の日本語力を持つ留学生を対象としたクラスです（クラス単位数は２単位）。
様々なメディア作品（ドキュメンタリー番組、ドラマ、映画等）の内容理解、要約の練習を行い、また、作品に表象される社会問題についてのディスカッションを行います。加えてクラスではメディア作品をベースにしたミニドラマの動画作成を行い、登場人物の感情分析、ストーリーの創作、日本語での演技の練習も行います。
到達目標Goal
このコースを履修（りしゅう）することで、学生は以下の能力を高めること
ができます。
①日本語の聴解力、内容の要約力を高め、メディア作品の批評を書くことが
できるようになる。
②メディア作品の分析と発表を行うことができるようになる。
③動画作成により日本語の表現力を高めることができる。

今年度クラスで扱った作品はおおむね好評であった。今後も社会的な問題を取り上げたメディア作品を選び、学生達が現代日本社会について理解を深められるような作品を扱うようにしたい。

・まずGoogle Classroomに登録してください。入り方は以下の通り。

②法政大学のメールアドレスを入れる
③このクラスの授業コードを入力し、クラスに登録する
（授業コードはJLE全体のGoogle Classroomに書いてあります。

・Google Classroomとメールを毎週授業の１日前に必ずチェックすること。
・大学のメールアカウントをチェックしない人は、必ず大学のメールから自分がいつも使っているメールアカウントに転送設定をしておくこと。
・締め切り日の後でメールで宿題を教員に提出しても受け取らない。

＊このクラスはJ６、J７レベルの学生を対象とします。
＊履修希望者は１週目と２週目の授業に出ること。３週目からの履修者は原則として受け入れません。
＊履修希望者が多い場合は選考します。
＊このクラスは2023年度まで「日本社会とメディアS」の名称でした。過去に旧クラスの単位を取った学生は、再度このクラスを取ることはできません。
