Outline (in English)

This "Economics" course, based primarily on microeconomics and macroeconomics, will help students understand the basic principles and concepts of modern economics, learn how to allocate resources efficiently, and understand the concept of human economic behavior through the lens of economics. Specific topics covered include consumer behavior, production behavior of firms, market mechanisms, game theory, and macroeconomic policy. Students will also understand how to examine causality with econometric examples. Focusing specifically on game theory, we hope to make use of this knowledge in our future life and work through learning the research methods of game theory. Class content will be based on the materials used in class. Examinations will be divided into attendance evaluation, two assignments, and a final exam, which will be used as the standard.
[Learning Activities outside of classroom]
Preparation and review of the materials to be distributed are required. Students should attend the lectures and focus on reviewing what they have learned in the lectures, since the lectures will be mainly based on the distributed materials. In addition, students are expected to read through the handouts (materials) and exercises distributed in advance of the class. The standard preparation and review time for this class is one to two hours each.

Attendance evaluation: 40%
Two homework assignments: 30%.
Final exam: 30%.
Total: 100%.
