Outline (in English)
【Course outline】
This course is for students who are at the intermediate or higher level of Japanese to build up the oral skill to make a presentation in Japanese.
Students will improve their basic Japanese skills to understand science and engineering classes and to make a presentation or discussion.
【Learning Objectives】
In this course, students will be able to do the following:
(1) Make a presentation using a resume and slides.
(2) Ask and answer questions based on their presentations.
(3) Express simple opinions and participate in discussions.
【Learning activities outside of classroom】
Students will be required to give a presentation every other week. Students will be required to prepare scripts and slides before the presentation, and to watch the videos after the class for self-feedback.
Approximately one hour of preparation and review time is required for this class.
【Grading Criteria /Policy】
Grading will be decided on the basis of the following:
In-class Contribution: 20%
Presentation and feedback: 50 %
Assignment: 30 %
※ No credit will be given to students who are absent more than three
times.
※ Students who want to take the course must attend the first and
second class sessions. Those who fail to do so cannot take the course.

このクラスは日本語レベル中級以上の学生を対象とした、プレゼンテーションのためのクラスです。
理工系の授業を理解し、発表やディスカッション等を行うために必要な基本的な日本語力を向上させることができます。
到達目標Goal
このクラスを通じて、学生は以下のことができるようになります。
・発表用のレジュメやスライドを作成し、発表することができます。
・発表内容に基づき、メモをとったり、質疑応答を行うことができます。
・簡単な意見を述べたり、ディスカッションに参加することができます。

・ほぼ隔週でプレゼンテーションを行います。授業の前に原稿やスライドの準備を行い、授業の後に動画を見て自己フィードバックを行う必要があります。
・本授業の準備・復習時間は合わせて1時間程度必要です。
