Outline (in English)

【Course outline】
This is a grammar and reading comprehension class for low intermediate (finished beginner) students. The aim of this class is to become able to read and speak about everyday subjects.

【Learning Objectives】
By the end of the course, students should be able to do the followings:
-Read short sentences written about simple topics every day.
-Review the grammar of beginners.

【Learning activities outside of classroom】
Students will be expected to complete all required all assignments. Your study time is at least two hours for class meeting.

【Grading Criteria/Policy】
Grading will be decided based on the following:
Class participation: 30%
Assignments :15%
Quizzes:15%
Mid-term Exam:20%
Final Exam:20%

※Students who miss 4 or more times class will not be eligible for the credit on this course, nor take the final exam.

※Japanese 4S (Reading & Grammar I) and Japanese 4S (Reading & Grammar Ⅱ) are the same textbook, but I(L1-L5)and Ⅱ(L6-L10) have different lessons.
We strongly recommend that you take both Ⅰand Ⅱ classes in one semester in order to improve your learning.
It is also possible to take them separately.
