Outline (in English)
【Course outline】
This is a grammar and reading comprehension class for low intermediate (finished beginner) students. The aim of this class is to become able to read and speak about everyday subjects.
【Learning Objectives】
By the end of the course, students should be able to do the followings:
-Read short sentences written about simple topics every day.
-Review the grammar of beginners.
【Learning activities outside of classroom】
Students will be expected to complete all required all assignments. Your study time is at least two hours for class meeting.
【Grading Criteria/Policy】
Grading will be decided based on the following:
Class participation: 30%
Assignments :15%
Quizzes:15%
Mid-term Exam:20%
Final Exam:20%
※Students who miss 4 or more times class will not be eligible for the credit on this course, nor take the final exam.
※Japanese 4S (Reading & Grammar I) and Japanese 4S (Reading & Grammar Ⅱ) are the same textbook, but I(L1-L5)and Ⅱ(L6-L10) have different lessons.
We strongly recommend that you take both Ⅰand Ⅱ classes in one semester in order to improve your learning.
It is also possible to take them separately.

このクラスは、初中級（しょちゅうきゅう）レベルの読解（どっかい）・文法（ぶんぽう）クラスです。目的（もくてき）は、日常的（にちじょうてき）な話題（わだい）について読んだり話したりできるようになることです。
到達目標Goal
このクラスでは以下（いか）のことが学（まな）べます。
・毎日のかんたんな話題（わだい）について書かれた短（みじか）い文が読めるようになります。
・初級（しょきゅう）の文法（ぶんぽう）の復習（ふくしゅう）をします。

進（すす）め方（かた）と方法（ほうほう）は以下（いか）のとおりです。
①テーマについて話します。
②ことばと漢字を練習（れんしゅう）します。
③文型（ぶんけい）と表現（ひょうげん）を確認（かくにん）して練習（れんしゅう）します。
④本文（ほんぶん）を読みます。音読（おんどく）もします。
⑤読んだことについて話します。
⑥ことば・文法(ぶんぽう)・漢字のクイズをします。
＊宿題などはGoogle Classroomを使ってフィードバックします。

成績評価の方法と基準Grading criteria
平常点（へいじょうてん） ：30%
宿題（しゅくだい） ：15%
クイズ ：15%
中間試験（ちゅうかんしけん）：20%
期末試験（きまつしけん） ：20%
＊クラスを４回以上欠席（けっせき）すると、単位（たんい credit)が出ません。
また、期末試験（きまつしけん）も受（う）けることができません。

Google Classroomはとてもたいせつです。しゅくだいやクイズ、じょうほうをGoogle Classroomで だします。

その他の重要事項Others
＊J4S日本語読解文法ⅠとJ4S日本語読解文法Ⅱは同（おな）じテキストですが、Ⅰ（L１～L5）とⅡ（L６～L１０）は勉強する課（か）が違（ちが）います。
学習効果（がくしゅうこうか）をあげるため、１学期（がっき）にⅠとⅡ両方（りょうほう）の科目（かもく）を履修（りしゅう）することを強（つよ）くすすめます。
別々（べつべつ）に取（と）ることも可能（かのう）です。
＊授業（じゅぎょう）の1週目、2週目はかならず出席（しゅっせき）してください。3週目にはじめて来る学生は、クラスを取（と）ることができません。
