This course aims to provide professionals with the tools they need to communicate in English in a variety of real life environments. The focus will be on communication and therefore speaking and listening are the core skills.
到達目標Goal
This course aims to promote confident practical use of English in a Business Environment.
Environments explored will include up and down chain of command communication, dealing with visitors, problem solving in a team and dealing with foreign clients at home and abroad.

Effective English language communication has become an essential tool in the global business environment. This course will lead students in maximizing their English skills for business situations.
The emphasis is on practice and confidence-building through personal and interpersonal communication.
Argument, decision making and critical thinking in business situations form the core of the classes, which will focus on student-led activities with the instructor as facilitator. Activities will include presentation, practice meetings, debates and discussions. There will be a modicum of written assignment.
All classes are conducted in English.

Manners, etiquette and food.

Individual presenatations to introduce yourself.
Week 6:Transport
How to get around foreign coutries.
Week 7:Travel
Destinations and describing places.
Week 8:Presentation 2
Small group presentations to practise cooperation and structure.
Week 9:Corporate language.
Interpreting and eliminating 'jargon'.
Week 10:Company vocabulary.
Understanding different corporate stuctures.
Week 11:Instructions.
Getting people to do what you want.
Week 12:Presentation 3
Group presentations on themes at from work done so far.
Weel 13:Review.
Discussion of problem areas and resolution.
Week 14:Final assessment.
Self-assessment and interview exercises.

Occasional preparation. Work will mainly be confined to class time. There will be two pieces of written work.
