Outline and objectives

This course is designed to develop practical oral communication skills for students to express themselves in English.

Goal

Students will improve their ability to express themselves in English in order to participate effectively in discussion and will learn to give presentations.

This course will be given entirely in English. Students will participate in a variety of activities, but emphasis will be on listening and speaking. These activities include role playing dialogues, pair and group discussions, and presentations based on short reading or audio-visual materials. Students are expected to come to class prepared by doing the assigned reading and other homework.
Feedback on students' performance will be given in class, as well as through written assignments in class and online using Google Classroom. Students may also correspond with the instructor using e-mail.

Class attendance & participation:   30%
Quizzes, short essays,individual and group presentations: 70%
