Due to the continued effect of the pandemic, classes for the Spring semester will be held on line, in an on-demand style. Each Friday, materials and weekly assignments will be found on the HOPPI learning system. Students will have one week to complete the assignments and enter their work into the HOPPI system. The materials will include handouts, worksheets and videos.

In this course students will have many opportunities to improve listening, reading and writing skills. Students will be encouraged to learn these skills through a variety of communicative and task based activities. Each week, students will participate in a myriad of activities to advance listening, reading and writing skills. Particular attention will be focused on improving communication skills through active listening and writing. Students will be empowered with the skills to become more confident communicators.

Each week students will see "real life" business dealings using "Undercover Boss", an American reality show. As they watch, the students will complete a listening comprehension worksheet and take notes about different aspects of the company, the workers and the CEO. After each program, students will check their listening comprehension and prepare a report related to that specific episode. This class incorporates Active Learning and task based activities.

Students will receive written comments and a score for all assignments and presentations. This will be done on weekly reports submitted on the HOPPI learning system.
