Outline (in English)

This course is intended to teach students English using the text book written about British Folk Song and British society. In this course, students will not only increase their English reading skills, they will also learn skills to express their own ideas or opinions in English. In order to achieve this goal, students in this course will do many exercises such as writing, discussion, and presentation, related to the knowledge learned from the textbook. Britain is a country which experienced the Industrial Revolution first in the world and laid the foundation of Today's global world. Knowing British society and culture historically will lead us to have better understanding of the roots of the world today which is going through unprecedented globalization. The aim of this course is to develop students' ability to use English as well as learn knowledge which is indispensable for us to live in the global society in the 21 century.
