Outline (in English)

In this course, we will discuss Japanese history in English. It is supposed to be an essential literacy for global citizens to be able to introduce their own history and cultures to foreigners in English today. Students will read an essay written about Japanese history in every class. Each essay is made up of 3 to 5 paragraphs, and each paragraph is made up of 40 to 150 words. In a word, students will read an essay of 300 to 400 words in every class.
It will be exciting for students to learn Japanese history in English because it will widen and broaden their understanding of history of their homeland, improving both of their English and Japanese skills. Through this course, students will not only improve their English reading skill but also cultivate their sense of global citizens who actively send messages about their own cultures and history to foreigners in English.
