Outline (in English)

Agriculture, essential to food production in Japan, currently faces difficulties such as a decrease in the number of farmers and an increase in abandoned arable land. Such a state will make it difficult to ensure that there is enough food to sustain human life. This course will give students an overview of the issues related to agriculture, rural areas, and agricultural policy in Japan, from the perspective of agricultural economics and agricultural policy.
