Outline (in English)

This course provides a firm foundation in basic cellular biology with an emphasis on eukaryotic cell structures. Topics include organelles, membranes, membrane proteins, and cytoskeletons. Upon completing this course, students will be able to diagram the structure of eukaryotic cells, describe structures and functions of organelles, understand concepts such as signal transduction, intracellular transport, and function of the cytoskeleton. We will also discuss the arms race between viruses and us, and in the end, students will be able to comprehend the current situation of COVID-19 pandemic from cellular biology-point of view.
