Outline (in English)
This class will deal with mathematical theories and techniques associated with industrial and systems engineering. Among others, optimization problems relevant to maximization, minimization, and extreme problems are particularly central. While the associated technique would be classified as a sort of applied mathematics, we will focus on applications to engineering rather than mathematical rigorousness.

経営システム工学で用いられる様々な数理的な手法のうち，特に極値問題や最大化・最小化問題に関連する理論や技法を中心に取り扱う．技法自体は応用数学の一部に位置づけられるが，数学的な厳密性よりも，工学分野への応用をより意識する．

１．ベクトルや行列を，単なる数値の塊としてでなく，その中に含まれる概念や意味が理解できる
２．各種の最適化問題を解く道具の引き出しが増えている
３．情報工学，数理工学分野への応用が行える

講義形式を主とし，理論や手法の説明と，演習問題を解くことの繰り返しで進める．
For each topic, lectures on basic theories and methodologies will be given. Some exercises may also be given to facilitate understanding.

1：ガイダンス，数学的準備
Orientation, mathematical preliminaries
授業の進め方，線形代数学・微分積分学での学習内容のうち，本講義に関連する事項の復習
2：行列の固有値と固有ベクトル
Eigenvalue and eigenvectors of a matrix
行列の固有値と固有ベクトルの求め方，およびその性質について学ぶ
3：行列の対角化，対称行列
Diagonalization of a matrix, symmetric matrix
行列の対角化，直交性などについて述べ，対称行列の性質を検討する
4：二次形式
Quadratic form
二次形式を導入し，正定・負定の判定，射影行列の性質について学ぶ
5：スペクトル分解
Spectral decomposition
行列の平方根とスペクトル分解について学ぶ
6：特異値分解
SVD (Singular Value Decomposition)
行列の特異値分解(SVD)について学ぶ
7：一般化逆行列
Generalized inverse matrix
一般化逆行列を導入し，回帰分析への応用などについて述べる

微分演算子とラグランジュの未定乗数法について復習する

回帰分析，主成分分析などの統計解析，金融工学への応用などについて述べる

Karush-Kuhn-Tucker条件について述べ，最適化問題を解く
授業時間外の学習（準備学習・復習・宿題等）Work to be done outside of class (preparation, etc.)
・本授業の準備・学習時間は，各4時間を標準とする．
・１年次の微分積分学と線形代数学，および２年次のオペレーションズリサーチIの素養が必須である．例えば微分積分では多変数の偏微分，線形代数では行列の基本変形や固有値問題などがある．これらが分かっていないと講義内容の理解が難しいため，自信がない人は事前に復習しておいた方がよい．
Prerequisites:
(1) Calculus (differentiation of a multivariate function)
(2) Linear algebra (elementary transformation, eigenvalue problem)

参考書References
具体的には提示しないが，線形代数学および最適化に関する解説書が豊富に発刊されているため，素養不足を感じた場合は，適宜それらを参照または購入して欲しい．
Specific references shall not be designated. However, if one feels a lack of knowledge on linear algebra or optimization, refer to associated textbooks.
成績評価の方法と基準Grading criteria
中間試験45%，期末試験45%，小レポート10%の三つで評価する．
