To help students enjoy speaking English and making presentations. Students will improve their listening and speaking skills and enhance their confidence when speaking in front of an audience.

We will develop and improve your presentation skills. You will practice speaking English in pairs and small groups and make individual and small group presentations on general English topics.
到達目標Goal
At the end of the course, students should have improved their oral communication skills and confidence when speaking English in pairs, small groups and in front of an audience. Students should understand the importance of good posture, eye contact, gestures, stage position in basic presentations.

Students will work in pairs and small groups using English in an enjoyable and communicative way. Students will give peer-to-peer feedback on presentations and will be provided with feedback from the lecturer in the class. Students will be asked to submit PowerPoint presentations on Google Classroom.

Students will be introduced to each other, the teacher, the course content, and the grading system used.
Week#2:Self-Introductions: Presentation Introductions; structure.
Students practice posture and make short speeches.
Week#3:Introductions.
Students ask and answer questions in pairs and small groups and prepare a presentation introduction.
Week#4:Hometown: Presentation overview structure.
Students practice eye contact and posture and design overview slides.
Week#5:Hometown Practice.
Students connect introductions and overviews and practice presentation openings.
Week#6:Family: Presentation Details.
Students ask and answer questions about family topics and prepare detail slides.
Week#7:Family Practice.
Students connect introductions, overviews and details and practice speaking in pairs.
Week#8:Interests: Presentation details and conclusions.
Students talk about interests and design conclusion slides.
Week#9:Interests Practice.
Students connect introductions, overviews, details and conclusions and practice stage position.
Week#10:Individual Presentations 1.
Students make short presentations to the whole class.
Week#11:Individual Presentations 2.
Students make short presentations to the whole class.
Week#12:Group Review.
Students work together in small groups and discuss presentation topics. Students choose one topic for a small group presentation.

Students ask and answer questions, practice enunciation and signpost expressions and choose a presentation question in a small group.

Students ask and answer questions about special occasions and choose a special occasion for a small group presentation.

Students make a basic presentation plan, choose presenter roles and practice making visual aids.

Students practice small group presentations, receive feedback and learn about anticipating questions.
Week#27:Second Small Group Presentation.
Students make small group presentations and receive peer feedback and feedback from the lecturer.
Week#28:Review Activities
Students ask and answer questions on general topics and prepare short speeches. Students practice posture, eye contact and gestures.

成績評価の方法と基準Grading criteria
Homework (20%) In-class participation including participation in pair-work activities, small group discussions and small group presentations (50%). Submission of one 5-minute individual presentation (30%). Homework assignments, regular attendance and active participation in class activities are required in order to pass the course.
