We will work weekly through textbook exercises and other material given in handouts. I want students to practice especially hard on improving grammar, writing stylistics, and clear, concise sentence structure. I have a number of classroom team writing projects that should also interest and help motivate the students to reach our goals. Feedback will be given in class and on each writing assignment.

第1回:Introduction
"Rules and regulations of our class"
Please begin the textbook for UNIT-1 on pages 3 and 4. I would like you to write in the book on each page with a pencil. Do NOT use ink. It is a fun book and I am sure that you will laugh and enjoy the stories and exercises throughout the year. After that, I would like you to write an essay on My Self-introduction. Please tell me about yourself...introduce yourself. Their is no limit on how many words I want you to write. You can either type it in on your computer and save it or just write it on one-side A-4 paper. It would be better to write it with a pencil since you probably will be making changes later on. Do NOT write in INK! Good luck!

Walking from JR Ichigaya Station round trip to Hosei is a kind of urban walking and could also be considered as a sport. For me, my favorite sports are swimming and water sports like scuba diving and surfing even though I am over 60 years old. So tell me about your favorite sport. There in no word limit so just try to write as best as you can. Please save it on your computer or write in pencil and save your essay until I collect it at a later date.

"How to successfully begin your textbook training"
Begin by finishing UNIT-1 in your book on page 3 to 4. Make sure you write your answers in your book with a pencil. I also would like you to write another essay on My Hobbies. *Student Classroom Evaluation; All students will be evaluated weekly in class for overall classroom work and interaction. Non-active participation or sleeping in class is not allowed and will seriously hurt final grade evaluation. Attendance is also very important in order to receive a passing grade. You must attend class every week and be active in training.
