Outline (in English)

This course provides a basic introduction of environmental civil litigation for graduate students. The course focuses on lawsuits in which people suffering from environmental damage sued the government of Japan and companies for damages and for the injunction of the pollutions and nuisances. Specifically, students will learn how the idea of torts in the Civil Code works in various forms of litigation, such as air pollution and water pollution cases.
