Outline (in English)

The main aims of this course are to deepen knowledge and understanding of the concept of utopianism and to review the history of utopianism in the world based on Gregory Claeys'》Searching for Utopia. The History of an Idea《.
We will focus on the theoretical foundations and the conceptual framework of utopianism through the different types of works including contemporary literature.
To provide graduate students with opportunities to read and treat American, English, Canadian and Japanese literature from the perspective of comparative literature.
Graduate Students are required to do a close reading of the textbook.
