Outline (in English)

We learn comparatively and globally histories of social and labor movements from perspectives of class, race, ethnicity, gender, and sexuality in this course. Taking cases which show significances in various contexts, we discuss dynamics of movements such as in what conditions people can cooperate and/or not. Students have opportunities of doing research at libraries and archives and having interviews with practitioners of trade unions and cooperatives on some specific cases according to their interests. They also have chances to give a presentation on their research projects. Through this course, students are expected to learn of how important taking care of history should be for their own activities.
