Outline (in English)

It is very important to consider the sound environment that is realized in the design of buildings, such as houses that do not suffer from external noise, concert halls with good sound, and classrooms with a good voice. Sound evokes a wide range of sensory stimuli, from pleasure to discomfort. Therefore, the sound quality must accurately correspond to each function and application. This requires a basic understanding of what sound is. In addition, since there are many similarities in the handling of sound and vibration, students learn the basics of vibration phenomena in the latter half of the lecture. The purpose of this course is to acquire basic knowledge about sound and vibration environments and then to learn ideal design requirements corresponding to spatial form and architectural use.
