Outline (in English)

【授業の概要（Course outline）】
This class aims to gain basic understanding of the history of social studies and civic education, the goals and contents in the National Courses of Study, and teaching materials research and learning methods. Also, based on this knowledge and skills, the class further discusses how to develop lesson plans and actually design them.
【到達目標（Learning Objectives）】
Students are able to acquire basic knowledge and skills in the use of educational methods and techniques, ICT, and teaching materials, and to be able to effectively design lesson plans with the aim of developing qualities and abilities.
【授業時間外の学習（Learning activities outside of classroom）】
Students will be expected to read research teaching materials, prepare presentations, write a lesson plan and prepare simulated lessons. The preparation and review time for this class is based on 2 hours each, for total of 4 hours.
【成績評価の方法と基準（Grading Criteria/Policy）】
The evaluation will be made based on the attitude of participation in the lesson(10%), learning tasks/learning guidance plan(60%), reports(30%).
