Outline (in English)

(Course outline)
The series of Dissertation Workshop classes (Ⅰ, Ⅱ, Ⅲ) aim at students who have been writing a doctoral dissertation. Each workshop requires that students make a mandatory presentation at the mid-year interim debriefing at least once during an academic year. The debriefing is carried out in accordance with the three-step-system encouraging completion of the doctoral dissertation steadily and in a planned way.

The debriefing session will give you a good opportunity to get comments, advice, questions, and other feedbacks from various professors, as well as a place to improve yourself via friendly competition with other students and by sharing useful information including research methods and different points of views.

The requirements of Dissertation Workshop ⅡA are to write (1) a review article of previous studies and (2) at least one (empirical) article equivalent to one chapter that will constitute your dissertation.

(Learning objectives)
The goal of this class is to pass the second step or step two of the dissertation examination. In order to do that, you are required to make a presentation based on the submitted papers including both a literature review study and at least one (empirical) study equivalent to one chapter of dissertation.

For the writing of a superior dissertation, you will be able to learn a lot from the advice and comments of your instructor and sub-instructor, as well as those of other faculties, graduate students and participants through Q and A sessions.

(Learning objectives)
The goal of this class is to pass the first step or step one of the dissertation examination. In order to do that, you are required to make a presentation based on a submitted research proposal including (1) issues and research questions based on the critical literature review of previous studies on your fields of subjects, (2) methods you will adopt, (3) the dissertation organization, (4) the writing schedule.

For the writing of a superior dissertation, you will be able to learn a lot from the advice and comments from your instructor and sub-instructor, as well as those of other faculties, graduate students, and participants through Q and A sessions.

(Leaning activities outside of classroom)
You should steadily progress your research in a planned way. Preparation for the requisite presentation in the workshop as well as making provisions on academic conferences and posting to peer-reviewed journals is needed. After the workshop presentation, you should organize advice, criticisms, other feedbacks, and your thoughts. Based on those works, you should sort tasks and improve your studies continuously for your dissertation.

(Grading Criteria)
Grading will be decided by deliberation in the faculty meeting of the Graduate School of Business Administration based on the evaluation assessed by your main instructor, sub instructor, and the dean considering submitted papers, presentations, responses in the Q and A sessions, and others.

Successful applicants given higher than A-(A minus) credit will be entitled to take the next class of Dissertation Workshop ⅢA and/or ⅢB. Note that students who passed the Dissertation Workshop ⅡA examination do not have to take Dissertation Workshop ⅡB.
