Outline (in English)
Students have already studied English for at least 6 years. This class is to enhance the students to widen their knowledge towards various environmental problems happening around the world and to further gain knowledge on SDGs.
Learning Objectives; The students are encouraged to speak in English as much as possible and to communicate with their classmates in English on environmental problems. Through discussion and presentation, students will share their ideas on various problems in English. We will also focus on the speeches of Greta Thunberg and Severne Suzuki.
Learning activities outside of class room: Although it is hard to communicate with foreigners under such circumstances with Covid 19 still going around, students are as much as possible encouraged to communicate with foreigners.
Grading criteria/policy: Basically, the grades will be depended on class work, presentation and test at the end of the term.

授業の概要と目的（何を学ぶか）Outline and objectives
小学校、中学校、そして高校において英語に親しんできたと思われるが大学では一層と英語に親しみ文法、読解を中心とするのではなくコミュニケーションを図りながら英語を道具としてそれぞれの専門分野で生かしていけるようにして行きたい。
到達目標Goal
英語で考えられるようにし英語で相手に伝わるようにして行きたい。まず短く簡単な英語でいいので自分の言いたいことを相手に伝えられるようにする. 日常の様々なトピックについて自分の知識、経験、意見を口頭で表現していくことをプレゼンテーション、スピーチ、デイスカッションなどを通して練習していく。リーディングに関しては教科書のユニットをよく読み内容を理解していく。
ライティングに関してはプレゼンテーションを準備する上で導入部分、メイン、締めをしっかりと順序立てて整理してかけるようにする。また聴く力も養っていきたいと思う。
温暖化、気候変動、絶滅危惧種、フードロス、コロナなど様々な私たちが地球にもたらした環境問題をどの様にして解決していけるか、解決できないまでもどの様にしたら減らしていけるかなどを意識して少しでも英語で発信していけるようにする。またそれぞれが興味のある環境問題に対してプレゼンテーションを行う。

教科書であるYou,Me and the Worldを中心に授業を進めていく。教科書をよく読み環境問題に関しての問題を考える。教科書に入る前に簡単なリスニングをし耳を英語に慣らしていく。また授業の初めに毎回２〜３人ずつ簡単なスピーチをしてもらう。教科書においてはそれぞれのユニットの課題、問題点などを考えていく。先進国の開発途上国への影響をかんがえる。また前の授業での復習をしながらフィードバックをして行く。学期末にはそれぞれグループに分かれて１０〜１５分のプレゼンテーションをする。

成績評価の方法と基準Grading criteria
成績の評価と方法については授業での平常点（５％）、デイスカッション（１０％）、発表等１５％、期末試験７０％ 計１００％。とする。なお６０％以上を合格とする。欠席４回以上の場合は単位取得は不可である。試験内容に関してはその学期に学んだことが試験範囲になる。
