Outline (in English)

The aim of this course is to develop students’ ability to express their opinion and convey their experience of familiar issues, including daily life, in English. Students will learn essential expressions of English conversation through various activities in class and will build their vocabulary. In the fall semester, students will make a group presentation. They will do preparation based on the structure and function of a paragraph, which they learned in the spring semester.
Students will be able to:
- convey their opinion, knowledge and experience of familiar issues to other students
- learn and use common expressions of daily conversation in English
- watch and listen to audiovisual materials and understand their main idea correctly
Students are expected to do weekly preparation for the course and a course review. Detailed information is given by the instructor. Assignments are designed to take approximately one hour.
Evaluation will be based on Hosei University grading criteria, as follows:
Quiz 20%, participation in class activities 30%, assignment and submission 20%, final assignment 30%
