Outline (in English)
Course outline:
This course deals with the development English communication in written and spoken forms. It also enhances the development of students’ skills in listening and, grammar usage, and vocabulary development.
Learning Objectives:
By the end of the course, students should be able to do the followings:
−Express opinions, knowledge and experience orally and in writing.
−Participate in and lead discussions on topics introduced in class.
−Make presentations in small groups and in front of the class.
Learning activities outside of classroom:
Students will be expected to have completed the assigned homework exercises after each class meeting and review before each in-class quiz given. Your study time will be more than four hours for a class.

Students will develop the skills needed to express their opinions, knowledge, and experience in English in both written and oral forms.
到達目標Goal
This course aims to improve students overall English fluency in both spoken and written forms. The students will learn to express their ideas clearly in writing at the paragraph level. The students will also improve their oral fluency by discussing issues in pairs or groups and making speeches for a variety of situations and topics.

授業の進め方と方法Method(s)(学期の途中で変更になる場合には、別途提示します。 /If the Method(s) is changed, we will announce the details of any changes. )
Class time is divided equally among the 8 units of the 2nd half of the textbook and each unit will be covered in 2 weeks. In the 2nd week, after completing each unit, students will spend time discussing/debating the topics introduced in that unit. A paragraph writing assignment will also be given based on the topics in selected units allowing the students to express their opinions in writing. There will be periodic quizzes on material studied.
Feedback on submitted assignments and quizzes will be given at the beginning of the following class.

本授業の準備学習・復習時間は、合わせて1時間を標準とします。/University guidelines suggest preparation and review should be around an hour a week for a one-credit course.
Students should prepare for the class by completing the assigned exercises in the textbook & completing and submitting assignments posted in Google Classroom. Students should check Google classroom every week to confirm the assigned exercises.
Students should prepare for quizzes by reviewing exercises in the textbook and what we have covered in class.
All writing assignments will be given and collected in Google Classroom
