Outline (in English)

In this class, students will aim to improve their English reading skills through reading the rewritten text of a famous piece of English literature. In this semester, students will read some pieces from Roald Dahl's autobiographical work "Boy-Tales of Childhood". Skills in rapid reading are indispensable for reading comprehension of English novels. Students will work on grasping the characters and the feelings of these characters in reading the stories, learning the skills of rapid reading. In addition to reading, students in this course will work on exercises for English writing. Through these activities, students will acquire practical and useful skills in English that can be used in various situations in daily life.
Students will be expected to have completed the required assignments after each class meeting. Before/after each class meeting, students will be expected to spend one hours to understand the course content.
Final grade will be calculated according to the following process; assignments (30%), term-end examination (40%), and in-class contribution (30%).
