Outline (in English)

In this class, we will learn the indicative past tense, future tense, subjunctive present tense and past tense, which we did not study in the elementary grammar of the first year. We aim to acquire the ability to use practical Spanish such as listening comprehension, reading, and writing using the learned grammar knowledge.
Students will be able to use the preterit and imperfect past tenses to describe complex past events. In addition, students will be able to use the future tenses to describe predictions about the future and speculations about the present and also will be able to use the simple conditional on telling the future viewed from the past and counterfactuals. Another purpose is to learn the subjunctive present tense to create complex sentences expressing desires, commands, requests, intentions, conditions, concessions, etc. Finally, students will be able to use the subjunctive past tense to untrue state assumptions and consequences.
Students should read the grammatical explanations in the textbook, work on conversations and exercises, and listen to the sound files to familiarize themselves with the rhythm and sounds of Spanish. The standard preparation and review time for this class is one hour in total.
The final grade will be calculated according to the following process; mid-term exam 30%, final exam 40%, class contribution 30%.
