Outline (in English)

In this class, we will learn about the Constitution of Japan by carefully reading the basic books of the Constitution and discussing it. The text of the Constitution itself is nothing more than a list of simple words, but by reading each text based on the history and ideas that underlie it, we can understand the social image that the Constitution would aim for. We will clarify the implications of the Constitution in a seminar-style dialogue.
Before/after each class meeting, students will be expected to spend four hours to understand the course content.
Grading will be decided based on reports (50%), and the quality of the students’ experimental performance (50%).
