This is a hybrid class, and we will meet some weeks in person and some weeks on Zoom. Please see Hoppii for details.

The instructor would like to create a “safe” learning environment for students. “Safe” means that students can express their opinions and try to understand others’ viewpoints without feeling judged. The overall class vibe is informal. Students participate in various activities involving reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Students are expected to listen to others and interact with others actively in group discussions. While presenting their topics, students should use audio-visual aids.
Regarding the feedback on class assignments, the instructor will give oral feedback to in-class discussions. For presentations and essays, students will receive a graded presentation rubric with the instructor’s written comments.
