Outline (in English)
The students are supposed to learn how to write a paragraph. Then they will be able to make a presentation based on it.
In order to prevent the spread of the infection, the spring semester will be on- demand, focusing on paragraph writing and listening. As for speaking, in the fall semester, the students are supposed to get used to speaking in front of the other students through one minute speech and presentation in order to cultivate their language proficiency.

授業の概要と目的（何を学ぶか）Outline and objectives
身近なトピックを英語の文章をparagraphを使って書き、さらにそれを使って口頭で発表できるようになる。前期は一つのparagraph をさまざまな様式で書けるようになることを目指す。さらに、様々なトピックに関する英文の内容をリスニングで内容把握し、音で語彙を増やし聞く能力を高めることに前期は焦点を当てる。スピーキングに関しては、後期に対面授業においてone minute speechやプレゼンテーションでより強化を図り、言語運用能力の向上を目指す。
到達目標Goal
・ニュースメデイアの内容をCDで音からの内容理解を実施する。まず、音と意味を一致させた語彙を脳内にinputさせて語彙力を増やさない限り、コミュニケーション能力は伸びない事を自覚させる。
・paragraph writingを毎回違ったトピックで書かせて習得する。翌週に添削してfeedbackされた箇所をチェックして、英作力を強化させる。

この授業はオンデマンド(資料型)です。指示や課題を学習支援システムで配信します。
毎週paragraph wrtiting の課題を与えられ、それについて学生は２００〜３００字のparagraphを書き、提出。翌週必ず添削されたものがフィードバックされるので、教師に指摘された自分の間違いをチェックし、その解説に未習熟の表現や語彙があればそれを学び、次回の英作に使っていく。リスニングはsummary /conversation in action の音声ファイルを通して音だけで内容把握することに始まり、cloze quiz , dictation and read aloudなどのアクティビティを通して英語の音に対する意識を高めていく。

※paragraph writing のトピックが与えられ、翌週には必ず提出すること。添削され翌週には必ずfeedbackされる。

indentation, bridge, skipping the lineなどのテクニックの紹介。
good paragraph と bad paragraphの違い。
Introduce how to produce the correct English sounds and the structure of English sentences, marking, slash reading.

成績評価の方法と基準Grading criteria
期末テスト４０％、提出物 5０％、平常点1０％ （提出期限厳守、質問等）の総合評価。
欠席が４回以上の場合、単位修得は認めない。

英語を表現することに慣れていなくても、回数を重ねるごとに上達していくと実感する学生の意見が多い。目にするものを英語でどう表現するんだろうという習慣をつけるのが大切。
