Outline (in English)
This class is to enhance the students to widen their knowledge towards various global issues happening around them. The students are encouraged to speak in English as much as possible and to communicate with their classmates in English.

授業の概要と目的(何を学ぶか)Outline and objectives
小学校、中学校、そして高校において英語に親しんできたと思われるが大学では一層と英語に親しみ文法、読解を中心とするのではなくコミュニケーションを図りながら英語を道具としてそれぞれの専門分野で生かしていけるようにして行きたい。
到達目標Goal
英語で考えられるようにし英語で相手に伝わるようにして行きたい。まず短く簡単な英語でいいので自分の言いたいこと相手に伝えられるようにする. 日常の様々なトピックについて自分の知識、経験、意見を口頭で表現していくことをプレゼンテーション、スピーチ、デイスカッションなどを通して練習していく。また聴く力も養っていきたいと思う。

この授業はオンライン(リアルタイム配信型)です。すべての回を Zoom で実施します。
教科書”Speaking of Critical Thinking" に入る前に簡単なリスニングをし簡単な会話をする。この教科書は様々なテーマをユニットごとに扱っているのでそれをしっかり読み、内容を理解しその内容に対してその都度そのテーマに関して自分の意見が言えるようにする。またこの教科書は様々なactivityなどがありそれらをとおして英語に一層親しんでいきたいと思う。自分の意見をクラスの前で言える様に大小のプレゼンテーションを授業内で多く行う。前の授業での復習をしながらフィードバックをして行く。各ユニットで出題されている単語などの意味及び文章も作れるようにする。

Read the unit well and do the exercises and understand it. Read The Academic Advisor and think what the problem is.

Put yourself in Risa's position and think what you will do if you were in her shoes.

As a law major student what do think about the outcome of texting while driving? If the driver causes an accident, is he/she guilty?

成績評価の方法と基準Grading criteria
成績の評価と方法については授業での平常点(5%)デイスカッション(10%)プレゼンテーション(15%)期末試験(70%)計100%とする。
なお60%以上を合格とする。各学期欠席が4回以上の場合は、原則として単位修得を認めない
