Outline (in English)

【授業の概要(Course outline)】
This class aims to develop students’ broad understandings on educational change, through dealing with the education system (especially schooling system), and through co-analysing distinctive initiatives, in addition to through conducting a case study on the school students graduated from.

【到達目標(Learning Objectives)】
At the end of this class, students are expected to be able to (i) acquire basic understandings on education system, (ii) analyse distinctive initiatives based on the knowledge gained in (i), and (iii) contextualise and analyse educational initiatives in the context of overall trends, referring to systems and policies, statistical data and the results of academic research.

【授業時間外の学習(Learning activities outside of classroom)】
Before and/or after each class meeting, students are required to have completed the required assignments such as
- Rereading and summarising the material handed out in class
- Submitting Attendance Check Assignment.
- Conducting case study

The standard preparation and review time for this class is two hours each.

【成績評価の方法と基準(Grading Criteria /Policy)】
Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following:
Attendance Check: 50%, Case study report: 50%
