Outline (in English)

【授業の概要(Course outline)】
What is a school? What do we learn at the school? What kind of work does the teacher engage at a school? This class explores the school as a place for career formation as well as occupation. As society changes dramatically and educational issues pile up, various themes around the school and careers are examined from the viewpoints of life courses as well as special needs.

【到達目標(Learning Objectives)】
Students are able to acquire basic knowledge of a school as a place for career formation and as occupation, reflect their own school experiences, and write a proposal of an ideal school effectively.

【授業時間外の学習(Learning activities outside of classroom)】
Students will be expected to read materials, conduct research and study, reflect on their learning, prepare materials on the subject, and prepare a presentation.

【成績評価の方法と基準(Grading Criteria/Policy)】
Grading will be decided based on in class contribution (30%), assignments and presentations (50%) and term-end examination (20%).
