Outline (in English)

【Course outline】
This class aims to explore career designs in a global society by getting to know Taiwan. The major themes of the Taiwan experience study in the Fall semester are 1) understanding its history, society, culture and people, 2) learning Chinese language , 3) meeting and interacting with Taiwanese people and college students, 4) making a poster and a report and 5) considering meaning of career design in a global and multicultural society.

【Learning Objectives】
Students are able to 1) acquire basic knowledge of its history, society, culture and people, 2) interact effectively with Taiwanese people and college students, 3) design and write a poster or a report as a team, and 4) have their own idea on career design in a global and multicultural society.

【Learning activities outside of classroom】
Students will be expected to read the text and materials, conduct research and study, reflect on their learning and prepare presentations. They also will be expected to plan, write, edit a poster or a report and prepare for the presentation. Your study time will be more than four hours for a class.

【Grading Criteria/Policy】
Grading will be decided based on in class contribution (30%) and assignments and presentations (70%).
