Outline (in English)

【Course outline】
In relation to the theme of the well-being of elderly people, students will think about the lifestyles of elderly people in a wide variety of environments such as local communities, care homes, and during disasters. Building on Specialized Studies I, before selecting the topic for their graduation research, students will learn basic research methods and clarify which themes are most interesting by engaging in fieldwork and discussions.
【Learning Objectives】
1)Students will be able to select a topic for their graduation research in line with their interests.
2)Students will acquire basic literacy and be able to choose and explain research methods in accordance with their research topic.
【Learning activities outside of classroom】
Students will clarify which themes they find most interesting by engaging in literature review and fieldwork. Moreover, through presentations and discussions, students will narrow down their research topics while performing peer review. They will debate on each of their research topics. As required, feedback on assignments, etc., will be provided using the learning support system or in person.
【Grading Criteria /Policy】
Grading will be decided based on in-class contribution (60%), and the quality of the students' performance in the class (presentation, report) (40%).
