Outline (in English)

【Course Outline】
The aim of this course is to develop the basic English communication skills of students, which are necessary both inside and outside the university campus. The skills taught in this course include reading comprehension, critical thinking, and presentation skills on current events and topics of personal interest.

【Learning Objectives】
Students will be required to read texts about well-being and related topics, and then make a presentation using suitably designed visual aids (such as PowerPoint slides) to develop their English presentation skills. In addition, each class will involve various activities including script writing, peer reviews, and group discussions.

【Out-of-Class Learning Activities】
Students are expected to complete the assigned tasks. Ideally, students should spend two hours each week preparing and reviewing the course content.

【Grading Criteria and Policy】
Grades will be based on in-class participation (40%), short reports and quizzes (30%), and a presentation (30%). Students who miss four or more classes will be automatically disqualified. To receive an excused absence, the appropriate documentation is required.
